Foundation Covenant

Foundation Covenant

The Foundation Covenant is a wedding certificate signed by couples during or after the wedding ceremony. It is large enough to contain space for the guests to sign as witnesses and is often used instead of a guestbook at a reception. It is approximately 11″ x 14″ in size and printed with your names and wedding date on rich paper stock. $79.00

The Foundation Covenant is a solemn freewill agreement between two people made with the whole hearted intention to completely fulfill all obligations undertaken. While it is not required, it is a great symbol of your commitment to each other that can also be displayed in your home for years to come. This covenant is based on principles similar to those found in a Jewish Ketubah, Quaker wedding certificates, and other sacred literature and texts.

In days gone by people were considered only as good at their covenant word, and were held strictly to the words they had spoken in covenant agreement. This demanded loyalty and commitment and there were no loopholes to provide escape from the terms. In this day when promises are so easily made and so easily broken it is difficult for us to understand the true weight of a covenant agreement.

If you wish is to have one created for you and your true love, we would be delighted to have yours available for your ceremony. Please pick from below…

Words of Affirmation

Let the world witness that on the ______ th day of _______ in the year ________ in the community of ________, a sacred covenant was entered into between ____________ and __________. Surrounded by family and friends, we affirm our commitment to each other as loving and equal partners in life. Our dreams and our experiences will now be forever interlaced. We promise to celebrate all of the passages of life together with joy and reverence. In times of happiness we will cherish each other, and in times of trouble we will protect each other. Our home will be a place filled with warmth, light and compassion, shared freely with all who abide there. We willingly enter into this covenant of affinity and love: from this day forward, we are as one.
